You have been here before, though you don’t remember. Our Journeys are long with many memories of the past for our Ancestors have walked this path before us. My prayer is that the rhythm of our Drum awakens the Heartbeat deep within so that we can feel the love, compassion and nurturing of Mother Earth and become as one with the pulse and rhythm of her Heartbeat. We give thanks to Creator for all the Spirits that have come before us, for those that walk with us now, and for those that will journey in front of us. May we all find our own Heartbeat within the rhythm of life?

 

These drums are made with prayers to honour all Beings: Mother Earth; Father Sky; the Sacred Directions; the Four Seasons; the Elements of Fire, Water, Earth and Air; the Four Legged Ones; the Winged Ones; the Standing People (Trees); the Spirit of the Water; the Spirit of Fire and to all of life. These Drums are woven with the Spirit of Love.

 

The roundness of the Drum reminds us of the roundness of Mother Earth, Grandmother Moon, Grandfather Sun, and the many stars in the Great Star Nation, all that makes up the Sacred Hoop of Life. Circles within Circles that creates the roundness of the Universe and the Circle of Life.

 

The Head or skin of these Drums can be made with either the feminine energy of the Deer or the masculine energy of the Kangaroo. We Honour the Deer for its gentleness and beauty as there is only timid ness and love within the eyes of this gentle creature. We Honour the strength and grounding of the Kangaroo for its ability to adapt to the harsh Australian environment. Also for their courage of either, standing alone as an individual, or as a part of a family unit. The Kangaroo reminds us of the strength of a Warrior.
